  • USVF (in-progress)

    2019-2022. Feature-length.
    HD video, stereo, color

From morning to night, a procession of singing street vendors winds their way into the rapidly-urbanizing core of Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city, calling to the apartment blocks above. Set within a sprawling tangle of new construction occupied by an increasingly wealthy urban elite, USVF offers a vibrant, melodious portrait of vendors’ shared effort to persist in spite of large-scale urban change.

  • Olcott, W.Va.

    2020. Total runtime 13:30
16mm to HD video, stereo, color

Traversing the space between history and memory, documentary and fiction, archive and recollection, “Olcott, W.Va.” serves as an effort to return to a place that no longer exists. Filmed through a camera obscura, an archive of images, texts, and diagrams—part inherited, part invented—endeavors to bridge the distance between past and present, but gaps, blurs, and failures persist.

  • Minmanaing I / Kyauktada II / Sanchaung III

A 5.1 surround sound composition comprised of field recordings from three neighborhoods in Yangon (Minmanaing, Kyauktada, and Sanchaung), this three-part piece traces the changing labor of the city’s street vendors as they negotiate spatial and sonic transformations, unique to particular urban spaces.
